Composer Arranger Performer Orchestra preparing to begin a concert
Ariel began composing instrumental music during her time in graduate school, as a part of her studies. Since then, she has composed multiple string quartets, a suite of pieces about Oakland, pieces for the Composer Arranger Performer Orchestra (CAPO), which she also plays with, vocal songs, and more. She has mentored with Ryan Shore through the Recording Academy’s composer/songwriter wing, and premiered an orchestra piece “Integration” with Echo Chamber Ensemble February 9, 2025, a new string quartet, “Starvation”, on October 23, 2025, her first ever solo piano piece “Longing” on July 6, 2025, as well as a brand new choir piece, “Resilience”, with the Free Key Choir December 12-14, 2025 as a part of the Glenview Classical Series. Her latest piece, “Blossom”, will be premiered by the Women Composers Collective on Saturday, January 31st, 2026 as a part of the Glenview Classical Series at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Oakland.
Ariel has many long-term projects, including scoring the silent film “Le Voyage dans la Lune” by Georges Méliès, so keep an ear out for more to come!
